Quds Bank opens its new branch at Selatad-Daher in Jenin
Jenin – 11/06/2014 – Quds Bank opened today a new branch at Selat ad-Daher in Jenin Governorate in the presence of the Governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority, Dr. Jihad Al-Wazeer; Chairman, Akram Abdel-LatifJerab; the Bank’s General Manager, SameehSubaih; the Deputy Governor of Jenin, Abdullah Barakat; the mayor of Selat ad-Daher, ImadHantoli; and a number of legal entities and businessmen in the governorate of Jenin, in addition to a delegation from the Bank’s Executive Management.
The ceremony was opened with a word from the Chairman of Quds Bank, Akram Abdel-LatifJerab, who welcomed the attendees by saying: “it is our pleasure, honor and with pride that we stand here today to announce to you about the opening of a new branch of Quds Bank in the town of Selat ad-Daher, increasing the number of our branches to reach 26 branches and offices distributed all over the nation. Moreover, we are awaiting the opening of our new branch in Bethlehem very soon, to reach 27 branches and offices working to provide the best services to our customers.
Furthermore, the launching of the MasterCard in its three categories, Platinum, Silver and Gold, and the approval of two new sub-agents for the service of Western Union for Money Transfers, which has spread across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and the spread of ATM’s to reach 49 ATM’s spread all over the nation, represent a message from the Bank’s Management and its employees, including its cadres and promising Palestinian banking expertise that Quds Bank constitutes an economic national monument worthy of well-deserved appreciation”.
For his part, the Minister congratulated the Bank’s Management on opening a new branch and added by saying: “I am very pleased to be amongst you today at the opening of Quds Bank’s 26th branch, which we had awaited a very long time. Also, selecting a region such as Selat ad-Daher to open a branch in only indicates foresight and a future vision. We are very proud and honored with this remarkable progress in which the Banking Sector in Palestine has accomplished despite the poor political and difficult economic conditions, whereas the Bank’s total assets have reached 11.4 Billion Dollars”.
He also indicated the most prominent accomplishments of the Banking Sector for this year, which is the great work done by the Palestinian Deposit Insurance Corporation which includes the deposits of 93% of depositors at a limit of 10 thousand dollars instantly, and covers the customers of both the Islamic and commercial banks.
Moreover, the Governor of Jenin welcomed and congratulated Quds Bank on opening the branch of Selat ad-Daher branch, and thanked its management for taking a special interest in the region, given that it’s the first bank that opens a branch in the region. He also emphasized that the Palestinian people must be one in order to support the local economy and encourage trade and investment.
In addition, the opening of Selat ad-Daher branch comes within the policy of proliferation and expansion in which the Bank seeks to carry out throughout the current and following years of opening branches, offices and ATM’s in various regions of towns, cities and governorates, in addition to launching distinctive products and programs for its customers.
